Our Story

Comprising of 6 elegantly suites, each suite is housed in a joglo, the property was bestowed with the talents of an architect and landscaper who also owns a homewares store Carga located in Seminyak, and a jeweller who has a jewellery store in London, and a design and wholesale jewellery business that supplies over 500 stores, and also owns Jemme restaurant, a 17 year old institution in Seminyak, Bali. Together they bring their talents and passion for refined luxury, lush gardens and a farm to table experience to life at Umah Lusa.

Umah Lusa is a secret haven of calm, restoration and seduction. Inside the resort, a sultry atmosphere fills the air, while the soft lighting, wood screens and textures gently stir the depths of your soul. In the privacy of your suite, you’re immediately romanced by the sheer luxury of your surroundings.

Perched on the Northern edges of a huge well preserved forest, overlooking the fertile lands and valley below, Umah Lusa Resort soars above all, and quickly takes your senses to equally dizzying heights.

Our six private suites at Umah Lusa provide the ultimate escape, where you can truly reconnect. Each suite offers deep baths, teak wood screen, polished antique concrete floors, providing a romantic and rejuvenating environment. The luxury suites offer unique experiences – and as you look out of your suite and the sunsets, you may catch a flicker of the fire flies that come to visit us, and add to our magical space.

In the main lounge, a hint of the resort’s original Balinese soul arouses the curiosity. Floor to ceiling windows flood the room with light, and the generous deck surveys the plains below. Here nature whispers to you gently, with the soft song of cheerful birds filling the air. The colours of the valleys and far out views of the North Bali sea and the succulent filled gardens present a calming palette to the eye.

Dining at Umah Lusa focuses on fresh, local organic produce harvested from our farm located 15 minutes away. Discover ingredients that you never expected to ever eat. We also source ingredients from local organic farms nearby. Our menu reflects our unique sense of place, with over 80% of our ingredients sourced within a 1 hour drive. We believe that food is best enjoyed slowly and to share, with a bottle of wine or vibrant cocktail in hand.

Time at Umah Lusa moves slowly, although there is certainly no shortage of things to do. Spectacular nearby walks into the area; a visit to our farm to select your vegetables for the day, and inhale the clove trees or indulge in a cooking class at our farm, and lunch with spectacular views of Lovina sea, and Java volcanoes, a couples massage in the indulgent antique wooden Pala spa; an afternoon sipping cocktails by the pool – these can all be enjoyed at your own extravagant pleasure.
